De Soto Riviera Full Front Zip Jersey. Thoughts?

Any thoughts on advantages or disadvantages to swimming in these? I do have one but have not swam in it yet.

Interested to hear thoughts as well. Just bought this and really like the fit and will be wearing it to my next open water swim.

Are you talking about the sleeved riv tri jersey? I’ve swam in it under a wetsuit many times, no real issues

I race with mine under my wetsuit - don’t even notice it.

Raced in mine for two years now. Awesome jersey. Have done wetsuit and nonwetsuit races. Feels the same. What else would you like to know?

Worn mine less than a dozen times and zipper wants to pull apart when zipping up.
I am sending back to be fixed but now in the market for a new tri top.
Suggestions?

No problem swimming with my full zip sleeveless tri-jersey.

With sleeved version under wetsuit I have done several long course races and been very happy. I will be putting the sleeved version on in T1 at Kona. Awesome piece of kit.

Advantage - not having to put it on in transition

Disadvantage - back pockets could increase drag (maybe)

I think DeSoto makes the best tri shorts in the business.

I think DeSoto makes some of the worst tri jerseys in the business (for me). It may just be my body type but I can’t wear a DeSoto tri top. They fit so different than any other top that I have ever tried. It must be working for them as a company but it sure doesn’t work for me. To be clear, I have tried several different styles and levels of their tri tops and none has worked well for me. But again, maybe it is me…

Specifically for the full zip, sleeveless top:

  1. Neck opening is very restrictive. I always feel like this jersey is trying to choke me.

  2. Arm holes are cut so high and small that they chafe both my lats and my arms when I wear it.

  3. Full zip front bunches up in the front when in aero. It is definitely not aero (but my position isn’t either) and definitely not comfortable.

Fantastic company. Fantastic short. I see people wearing their tops at races and clearly many are happy with them but I can’t count myself as one of them. (as an aside–I tried to sell my full zip top to someone else and they sent it back to me with pretty much the exact same complaints that I have laid out above so I am not the only one.)

Agree, the shorts are great and didn’t mind wearing the top except for the neck being to tight when zipped fully and the zipper breaking after very little use.
At 5’10 165 I am a little surprised I can’t fit in an extra small.

For the record they are repairing the zipper for free and promised to have back in 3 weeks.
Unfortunately my next event is in two weeks.
