Day in the life... WAY up north...pics fixed

A snapshot of my research day in Canada’s Western Artic (sorry, no training pics…):

Start off by choppering into base camp:

Then start up the iron dogs and head out on the land, with our first stop to enjoy the view over the Mackenzie Delta:

Then a visit with some of the local wildlife (yes, a reindeer):

Sorry, but I am not kidding. I just see small white boxes with little red X’s in them.

What do other folks see?

I looked at the properities of one the photos and I see that it is a yahoo site where it is posted. That may be the problem. Yahoo uses dynamic internet addresses (constantly automatically changing) which mean the photo is unviewable by us on this forum within minutes of posting.

You may be able to see them because they are on your accessible web space, I don’t know.

I still see the pictures, no problems here. I have seen this problem other times when using yahoo though.

Well, I surrender. just use your imaginations - lots of snow, a reindeer, some helicopters.

I get the same thing. My pix reside at yahoo, and when I paste 'em in, they show up just fine in the preview, but all I get is the red x of ineptitude when I post. Damn computers…so confusing.

Yeah, I had the same problem. A tech explained to me the confounded dynamic IP addresses so I use Yahoo no more for posting photos here.

Very cool. I can only imagine how friggin cold it must be. Cute reindeer critter (almost looks like his horns are taped-on a la Dr. Suess) and a very sweet looking dog. Helicopter rides are always fun. For sleeping, you really need one of those eye masks the airlines give away in business class. I got about 50 of them, most of them new. You need one, two? They are small and light–postage can’t be too bad.

I’ve used one of those airline eye things before and was teased so mercilessly that i put it away and went with the tshirt…

yes, it gets pretty cold up there, at the time of year those pics were taken (End of April) it can be quite tolerable.
