Overslept and missed the 6:45 am group ride. Went out with a friend and caught our group. Got dropped by group. Ended the day solo in the now normal Texas winds.

Rode-56 (I’m only training for a half)
Ran-4.5 (that makes 60 for the 8 days and I am done running)

1 more day of swimming and riding and I start a 6 day taper for the first race of the season. Go Red Raiders.

Big ride, short run off the ride. Cold in the NW, but tolerable. I’m tired.

Did an off-road 5k race this morning. I did better at this race than I did last week, go figure. Bike & run planned for tomorrow. Everybody have a semi-epic day 9.

I’m done. My legs are toast so I’m still bringing up the rear at 102. Might get our for a run later, but the weather isn’t looking too good.

I’m proud to be bringing up the rear with WebSwim without us what would everyone else have to compare to?

Why does LIFE get in the way of the fun stuff? Wasn’t able to do anything for 2 days with parent conferences - and the weather wasn’t bad. Made up for it (a little bit) with fri off. 42 miles on the bike and then a 7 mile run for a total of 70 pts. Today was a 3300M swim (33 pts) followed by a 50 mile bike ride. The ride was exciting because of the wind 12.6 avg on the way out and 25.8 back. As luck would have it was a pure West wind on the way out and shifted to the NW coming back. Couple of times thought the bike and me were going to be blown off the road. Temps were nice today, but snow for the run in the morning. Such is spring in Michigan!

That brings me to a new total of 331 pts

After hurting my achilies last Friday I took last Saturday and Sunday off and haven’t run all week. But here are my totals for the week. They’re more typical than epic :slight_smile:

Mon: 1600m swim, 37mile ride - 53
Tues: 4000m swim, 39 mile ride - 79
Wed: 1000m swim, 2 mile run (tested the achilies but it still wasn’t ready) - 18
Thurs: 4000m swim, 37 mile bike - 77
Fri: 1000m swim, 28 mile bike - 38
Sat: 103 mile bike - 103

Total: 368

I wouldn’t mind devoting more time to training but I have this little naggin thing called work that takes up far too much of my time :smiley:

I think I’ll be more ready for epic proportions next year and wouldn’t mind scheduling some time off work to see what the ole body can do.

Late in the afternoon on Day 7, I added an 8.5 mile run. Then I managed a slow, easy 17 mile bike ride before my softball tournament on Day 8.

Through 8 days: 246 points.

I’m hoping for a strong day tomorrow (for me). My goal is to get over 300 points for the 9 days. If things go as planned, I think I’ll be able to do it.

Had a busy day, no training - I am at a crossroads… jump on the trainer for a 2 hr spin and watch the next 5 episodes of Sex in the City or lay on the couch with the munchkins, eat extra butter popcorn and watch “the little rascals” (b&w version, of course).

Day 8: Alright, maybe not as big of a day as I had hoped for but I’m still pretty pleased with what I did today with the weather that was forecasted. We lucked out mostly.
