I’ll preface this by saying i’m trying very hard to believe Lance, Floyd et al were clean fast riders. This is becoming more difficult by the day. I’ve been riding for most of my life and watched the TdF on tv as a kid before Lemond started winning, but i’m about to stop because most of what i’ve seen in the past 10-15 years now appears to be total fiction.
With that, David Walsh was on Competitor Radio sunday night, they play 90 minutes of the 2hr 15 minute interview. The entire thing is available for download at http://competitorradio.com/
I don’t want to believe what he says about Lance but his points about the disappearance of the small Columbian climbers from the Tour replaced by bigger riders who weren’t competitive because of their size but with EPO helping get more oxygen into their systems and suddenly their size/engine became an advantage make a lot of sense.
It sounds like his 1st book had lots of sources who are named in this version of the book, the circumstantial evidence seems to be mounting against everyone who has been riding in the past 10+ years.
I hate this.
I’m not buying his book but still love riding my bike and loved doing triathlons before a car shattered my leg.
I just finished reading Walsh’ book, which I found to be highly creditable. I highly recommend it. And I am a big Lance Armstrong fan. Put it this way, if Armstrong won seveen TdF without doping, while many if not all of his main competitors were doing so, then that is truiy one of the greatest athletic feats of all time.

I totally agree. Want LA and Floyd to be clean…pretty reasonably sure they aren’t.
I was up until 2am last night because I had to finish Walsh’s book. I 'm sorry but I believe him. I read Floyd’s too. It 's very hard to prove a negative, which is what Floyd has to do. I don’t hold much hope for him.
That being said, I really don’t give a shit, did you see the last two stage finishes? unreal.
The doping just doesn’t make a difference to whether or not I enjoy cycling. I refuse to let the situation bother me.
I would rather the UCI/WADA could find tests that would assure riders who wanted to be clean that they could indeed ride clean and be competitive, and I would also rather every cyclist who ever doped came clean about it.
Face it. EPO was undetectable for long time. Who’s fault is that? No one’s . Let’s just give everyone a break here and watch the tour .
