Dave Z is my Hero

Zabriskie is such a joker. From his famous 'stash to this latest gem I got in my inbox yesterday with his team photo. It is just nice to know that there are still cyclists out there who don’t take themselves too seriously and like to have a little fun. Anyway I go a good chuckle out of it to got my day going.

how true…was that photo was taken right after the race. i bet some teams won’t even consider having a photo of of their riders unpolished.

OMG!

That is serious funny.

Holy cow, this guy is really out there. Every time I see that little sticker on my bike with his name on it honoring the worlds fastest time trial I will think of his nuts. Its to bad we don’t have more wacky guys like him out there. Tim

I still break out in fits of “Tommika Tommika Tommika” on occasion. Got to love the Zman!

Sadly, the first thing my eye was drawn to was Lowe’s Flock-of-seagulls-esque hair abomination. DZ needs the stash back… he looks 16 without it!

DZ is The King

Is he doing a Christopher Walken impression?

Did you read his comment in the NY Times this morning?

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/20/sports/cycling/20cycling.html?pagewanted=2&_r=1

From the story: He said there was a reason for his success, and Zabriskie — known for his dry wit — may or may not be serious in his explanation.

“I truly believe I can manipulate the earth’s forces and use them to my advantage,” he said.

This dude is just lucky he’s so crazy fast on a bike, I don’t think main-stream society could handle him
.

I must have missed it. There is not photo of Zabriskie on that link anymore. Anybody got another one?

The link just comes up blank now…

Really sucks to come back from the ToC and have this happen

Hope they catch the jerks that did this.

That guy just can’t catch a break. I feel so bad for his lost memorabilia, those belong in a museum somewhere, not a chop shop.

Poor DZ, maybe there will be some silver lining to this come TdF time.

Blooming heck, you know that you’re a true cyclist when all your stuff gets stolen and 60% of the value comes from bikes!!!

No Kidding, I’ve travelled to races with bikes and wheels in the car with the value of the cycling equipment 3 times the value of the car
