DA Brake Quick Release?

I’ve got DA brakes that are >3 years old. Although I’ve maintained them (replaced pads, cables and generally try to keep them clean) the quick release lever does not work very well. When I turn the lever to open or close, the clamp that holds the cable also tries to turn (I think it should remain stationary). In order to get it to work properly I pretty much have to hold the clamp then turn the lever. I unscrewed the small allen bolt on the levert hinking it might have been too tight but that doesn’t seem to make any difference - not even sure why it is there as it doesn’t seem to hold anything in place. Any ideas?

Thanks.

download the pdf for the DA7700 brakeset and take it apart, the pdf is an exploded view so you know how to take it apart. Lubricated well, it sounds like yours is either rusted or dirty.

Thanks for the link Bob - a very good resource. They work just like new now. I had to use a little force but the clamp and lever actually do come apart. I guess there was some gunk in there causing it to stick. Once I put some lube in there it turns very smoothly again.

no problem, glad it worked.
