Cyclocross World Championship Conditions?

I was reading that Katie Compton was hoping for nastymuddysandygross conditions. Anyone have any updates on the conditions in Hoogerheide? It would be pretty awesome to have a US world champ…

She is awesome and has a very good chance! U.S. Men - good luck

The U.S. women’s team just might surprise some people. Hope NorCal’s Rachel Lloyd has a kick-ass race! She’s been going really well in the past few weeks.

clm

gooo compton!

and for the men - goooo boom!

sorry, i have a belgian friend who’s really gunning for… well, the entire belgian team is capable of winning, and he just wants a belgian to win!

i simply want someone to upset him, and by extension the belgians. i think boom has a better chance than stybar, so boom it is.

plus boom has one hell of a euro mullet. that alone should garner support from any fan of cycling and cross.

Temperatures slightly above freezing, with snow possible over the weekend. It’s warmed up over the last several days, but isn’t expected to get much warmer than it is now.

Intermediate conditions, it shouldn’t be all that muddy - which is a bummer.

http://cxmagazine.com/ has video of some of the preview sessions up on the site if you want to see for yourself.

Keep the US juniors in your thoughts; We’ve got 2 legitimate podium contenders…

Night temperatures negative : -4°C to -6°C ; temperatures at night were negative all week
Daytime : slightly positive : +1°C

Cloudy

It will be a frozen, very hard and fast course.

Enjoy !

Thanks for the link…
I love the shots of the local kids on the preride.

All the races should be very exciting indeed. The women’s race will be a super tough fight between Daphne Brandt (NED), Katie Compton (USA) and Hanka Kupfernagel (GER) and we should have an interview with one of these 3 after the event.

Van Den Brand…

Also known as DVDB…

… might want to have the name right before the interview :0)

PS - if course conditions stay as they are, Marianne Vos gets added to the list of favorites…

.

I actually knew that, but I guess you now know which one of the 3 isn’t getting interviewed.

Will it be avalible for viewing on the Net? I watched Page get silver a couple years ago. David K

Cycing.tv and Universal Sports are two options for streaming.

It didn’t really matter. The guy who won, has won events like that under all kinds of conditions.
