Cyclocross Workouts

Howdy!

Well, first of all, Hi…

I’ve been avoiding bike related stuff for months, because I’ve been battling an ugly injury, been unable to ride, and been too damn frustrated to talk about stuff I can’t do. That has meant no ST, and I apologize if I ignored a PM you sent me - there have been a couple. Sorry.

I’m starting to ride again - albeit slowly and painfully - and as part of my effort to come to terms with my lameness, I’m doing some pretty goofy stuff.

I have periodically been asked questions about cyclocross on here, and have supplied what info I could, when I could. Some folks have asked for some training advice, and that leads to one of the aforementioned goofy things I’m doing.

As the backhanded result of a passing joke, I am going to be tweeting a “Cyclocross Workout of the day” on my Twitter account, and posting more detailed descriptions/explications on my Blog. It’s goofy, it’s trite, and it’s probably more therapy for me than useful for anyone else, but if anyone is interested in checking it out they are welcome to…

The first workout went up tonight, and I will post one every night until I get bored or the season ends. This is totally non-commercial, and just for the hell of it, so feel free to take it or leave it.

PS - I tweet stuff other than this at this address. so please don’t be offended or surprised if you see the occasional Lavender Room material on there. 'nuff said…

Sorry to hear about your injury! Looking so forward to cross season with the new Dugasts … best “upgrade” I’ve done besides the engine.

fredly, get healthy fast!

-Kurt

Thanks guys.

rroof - which Dugasts did you get? Did you aqua seal them?

.

Typhoons (not the Flying Doctor version). Yes, aquasealed - they are nice and shiny  Still can’t believe how supple they are. Running at about 28 psi after some MAJOR gluing the Belgian way (including tape) and they just stick like glue in the grass/dirt and roll so smooth. Amazing really when I change back to back to some clinchers.

We don’t have lots of mud races here and I have a separate mud clincher. But I’m seriously ready to build up another set of tubulars just for some Rhinos

Hey man, it always sucks to be injured but I’m glad you’re back!

I know full well the impact of a sudden excess of free time… :stuck_out_tongue:

Hi Khai,

Yeah… “Free Time” is weird… especially when it means that you’re looking for things to do when all your friends are out racing.

I’m not good at it, not even a little bit…
