Not a lot of info here, just the basics. Would be interested in hearing your opinions on the sentence.

This was my prior home, and sorry to say, I never heard a lick about it…not surprised seeing that coverage in the paper. Maybe try the UVM (University of Vermont paper). Also, I am pretty sure I played sports against the driver’s older brother. Sorry to hear such a horrible thing happening in your old stomping grounds. Hopefully the rider recovers as full as possible. Burlington, Vt is a biker’s paradise otherwords, usually very easy to get around by bike and the surrounding area is a blessing for training. Too bad this seems to be happening everywhere biking is becoming more prevelant (i.e. Colorado)

I know that intersection pretty well. That same thing comes close to happening everyday (with both cars and bikes). If he would have just stopped, he would have walked with just a ticket. I ride pretty conservatively in that area (right in front of the bevy), and I try to be hyper-aware, (its about as busy as you’ll get in our State). In this case I think that it was a dumb accident, with a really stupid act after the fact, not the typical car-cyclist aggression that scares the crap out of me.

Although we live in a place that is great to ride, I don’t think that I’ve ever had a ride where there was not at least one experience that was not to my liking… Also interesting that I totally missed this story when it happened.

I try to stay Shelburne and south, but even down my way there are issues. Just a few weeks ago, with my kid in the Chariot, I saw a girl turn right into GMBC guy while pulling into Shelburne supermarket (on Mt. Philo/Falls). Didn’t even stop, I had to go in and get her to come out and get her to give Mike her info.

I assume if the guy didnt take off after the accident, this would be an non-issue concerning jail time. If he did truely hit and run, he deserves what he gets.
