Very cool. Thanks for that.
Nice, so when is the IM victory salute thread starting?
Awesome! So where do you perform the salute? As you roll across the dismount line?
the im victory salute starts about 20 meter from the finish when you grab your 3-year old child, infant in baby stroller, flag, neighbor’s dog and slurpee to do a victory parade to mike reilly.
Thanks for posting the link. Lots of other cycling tips on the site as well. Working on a “victory salute part 2” as I’ve missed quite a few. Perhaps you guys could help with a Triathlon victory salute?
I would freaking pay allot of money to get a video of the woman who was running with her boyfriend…he looked very fit, very well built - and being as he was finishing at 11:40pm - very slow for a guy in his early 30’s. At that time I look for bandages and what not…but I digress.
She is about 50lbs over weight and running to his right hand in hand in a slight rain…they hit the slight incline of the finish line, she slips, falls backward slides over the line - her shirt dragging up over her rather large breasts sliding into the finish line bridge thing that has the clock on it…
Not even the Hoyts can get that much excitement out of the crowd.

Thanks for the link. It is a great one.
On the topic… When I saw Sergio Jr (then 13) win the National Triathlon Championship race (arriving, as usual to T2, way ahead of the pack), I knew he was going to end up as a road cyclist.
Sergio raced on that hot day, with his tri suit zipper all the way down on the run to race cooler, but he zipped up his tri suit just before stepping on the blue mat (in typical cyclist fashion).
Below a pic of that race, zipper up to show his tri suit sponsor (Cervélo of course) and doing the Single Fisted Punch.
I smiled when my friend (a former road cyclist turned triathlete) told me excitedly that he had zipped up his tri suit in typical roady fashion.
Sergio
That just shows that he has class, is ready for huge sponsors and had a great teacher.
Fantastic! That was definitely good for a laugh… now I have to go practice in front of the mirror and hope that some day I’ll be able to use my finely tuned salute. =0)

Thanks Chip. I just hope he does not gets hurt in his risky quest.
Sometimes I wish that he comes back to tri, but I guess he should follow his heart.
Sergio
Priceless.
Later!
Brian
Much like a gorgeous sunset, or a tender moment with a loved one, some things are just so beautiful they have to be shared.
My favorite salute:
