Cycling Training Plan

I want to put together some sort of training plan leading up to a 40K time trial in September. The plan doesn’t have to be specific for each day, but I do need some direction and help with the big picture. Although I have done my own run training plans in the past, cycling is a new beast for me.

What are the building blocks for a cycling plan? How can I find races/group rides? My training time is somewhat limited due to work constraints, so how can I really make the time worth it?

FWIW, I’ve been cycling for about 4 years now but it’s mostly been in the context of tri training. This is the first season I’m going bike-specific. I’m not that interested in getting a coach. Any help would be great!!
