Cycling shorts dilemma

i have a dilemma. i’m fourteen and small for my age (5’1" and about 92 lbs.) i need a good pair of cycling shorts. i have the large pearlizumi kids shorts. great shorts except the chamois is about nonexistent; it’s about 2 mm high. it’s uncomfortable! but, a small in pearlizumi’s mens shorts are too big. do you guys kniow of a good kids short with a sufficient chamois? or will just end up having to go with a pair of women’s shorts? thanks in advance.

what’s the problem with wearing women’s shorts? I’ve never examined a pair but i can’t imagine there being any reason they wouldn’t work for a male

I am with you, try a womans short, it should work good for you!

Maybe give and women’s XSmall a try. My beau and I are about the same size so we can interchange some workout gear, there’s not really any difference in the shorts.

My son wore women’s XS and S bike shorts and bibs before he could fit into the men’s sizes. The biggest difference between the men’s and women’s is the location of the seam in the padding, which will make no difference to you. They will be a vast improvement over what you are using now, and no one but you and your parents will know they are women’s shorts.

just go with the ladies shorts. Actually, the women’s shorts are sometimes more comfy anyway as they are often lower cut in front, which I like (although I much prefer bibs, but do occasionally wear shorts in the summer).

How “big” are the PI smalls? If they’re close, try Assos, they run extremely small. Other option might be tri shorts from from Sugoi; they run REALLY small
