Are there any differences between men’s and women’s cycling shoes? I’ve seen a number of “women’s” shoes that just look like they have some pastel designs. Any functional differences? I’m trying to outfit my wife and we’re on a budget. If there is no differences, my options are much greater.
Women-specific shoes are generally more narrow.
While in a desperate attempt to find the perfect pair of tri shoes last year, I (female) tried on some men’s tri shoes. They tended to be way too wide for the same length, or they didn’t follow the shape of a woman’s foot: ie, they didn’t have any taper from a narrow heel to a wide ball.
