What would you recommend? None of my cycling shoes are tight enough. I ratchet them down all the way, but it still feels too loose. I’ve tried three brands. (Specialized, Nike and Pearl Izumi)
Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Throw in an extra set of inserts and see if that helps
.
have you looked into heat molded custom fit shoes? Shimano, and I imagine others are making them now. Same tech they’ve been using in hockey skates for years.
More socks!
Take your shoes to a shoe maker/shoe repair store and have them put a dense foam pad on the inside of the tongue of the shoe. It might add a little warmth (for extra money you could have them ‘ventilate’ the pad) but takes up some room to allow tighening the ratchet down without bottoming. An 1/8 to 3/16 inch pad should do the trick (maybe less, depending on how loose the shoes are now).
get wider or more volume feet.
get narrow width shoes
get custom cycling shoes (best investment I ever made in cycling equipment…EVER)
get heat molded shoes
Maybe I’m way different than most, but I am polar opposite on this. The last thing I want cycling is too cinched up in my shoes. The reason, I want to have the “feel”. I have picked up my average cadence this year and so has my cycling performances. And having a good feel helps when TT’ing with a cadence like a Cancellara (: I wish but that is the mental image of how I try to ride).
Anyone else cinch up this way?
Have you tried the new Specialized S-works shoes with the dual Boa lacing system? You can cinch them down damn tight! Very nice (and super light) shoes as well.
That said, Sidi shoes do tend to run a bit narrower and will likely fit you better. Expensive, but great shoes (if they fit), repairable, and cheaper than custom Bonts, etc.
Throw them in the washing machine hot water, throw them in the drier with heat on high. Watch out, your next post will be asking how to stretch them out again.
also I have some Sidi shoes and they have an adjustable length to the strap that you can make really tight
haaa… that and where’s the best place to purchase a new dryer?
Sidis run quite narrow, especially in the heel, and you can adjust the buckle to make them even tighter. I usually make it too tight and have to loosen it though, so be careful!
