So I recently learned that my feet are all messed up. I have wide feet (E width) and one arch is 5mm lower than the other. I’m told it’s basically impossible to find tri-specific shoes in E width, and most of them are actually C. Would it really be so bad for me to race an IM in socks and regular bike shoes? Is there some benefit to tri shoes that I am missing beyond the 30 seconds or so saved in T1? Anyone else just use regular shoes? I’m competing for a Kona spot (goal time 9:30) if that changes anything.
d2 custom shoes. Any width/height you want! Mine have no tongue (serves no real purpose), weigh 225 grams sans cleats /insole and you can get in them faster than any shoe on the market today hands down in my opinion. Super stiff too! Worth the money. Yes mine are all white and you can get any color/pattern you want!
Wow, those are some purdy shoes. I like that the straps also fasten inward. Maybe a pair of those is in my future. They certainly look better than Rocket 7s, which feel kinda cheap to me.
