Recently changed over from Sidi T1 to Tri-Vent. So far, I like the the tri-vent, but I’ve noticed some probs flaring up with my left plantar/heel area. Could the problem be caused by the new shoe, poor cleat position, or something else?? I’ve never really had any trouble in this area, but lately esp. after hard interval sessions on the bike it flares up. In watching CT spin scan my left foot is clearly the more powerful. How about some superfeet in the shoes?? I don’t think it’s related to running because I have not jumped mileage dramatically. I have been doing some short runs in flats, but it seems like the problem is related to the bike???
OK, let me weigh in here. People don’t realize this, but cycling shoes can be a huge source of feet problems.
Most cycling shoes ARE NOT built for Neutral foot type or those with flatter arches. Most cycling shoes are built for the same people that need all those supportive running shoes.
If you have a flatter arch, those trivents will kill your feet. I have a really tough time finding cycling shoes that are truly “neutral”. The best shoes for my feet tend to be low end entry level road shoes with minimal additional arch support. If you fall into this category of foot type, there are few high end cycling shoes that work well.

one idea: did you change your seat height to account for the difference in the stack height of the shoe? I am guessing that is your problem. your local bike fitter can probably give you an exact measurement in mm of difference between shoes. i know my guy had that : www.fittechbylamere.com
Good luck and be careful!
