Cycling equivalent to Slowtwitch?

Just finished my last tri for the season and I have to improve my cycling. Thinking of just doing cycling for a while to get better. I get so much help from this site on triathlons, I was wondering if there is a cycling equivalent to this site.

Thanks for any feedback!

The people there are almost as dumb as the ones here.

Hey! I resemble that comment!

Seriously though…if the OP is looking for advice on the TT portion of cycling (since it’s the most applicable to tris), I’d have to say that Slowtwitch IS the “cycling equivalent of Slowtwitch”

Why do you think so many TT’ers hang out here?

For a bit more “in depth” discussions on making a bike go fast, here’s another good spot with a high signal:noise ratio - http://www.wattagetraining.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=2

Now THAT’S an endorsement!..thanks Chris

This is ST, where winning a tri is 2nd to having the fastest bike split.
You have found your cycling forum.

Slowtwitch is better than bikeforums. If you could believe it people are nicer here too

Thanks everyone! Pretty funny I end up having this site recommended!

Might try:

www.roadbikereview.com

It has some good forums and info.

@tom a: “tires is what wins races.”

but aside from just tt info, it seems like st has more and more chatter on cycling in general. tting is good and all but road racing is where the fun’s at.

Check out the cyclingnews.com forums.

Depends on specific area of interest but a fair amount is already covered here. If you are talking non-TT related cycling, then you might find other forums of interest.
Wattage
Power

weight weenies is also very good. more of a slant to the lighter is better, but there are quite a few really smart people on there, as well as some great manufacturer interaction.

But the real fun is on the track!

Along the same lines, I have searched before to find a forum-type website for snow skiing and although I found some small ones, nothing to compare to Slowtwitch or any of the other forum website that dominate vitually all hobbies, sports, etc… Anybody know any big ones for skiing?

Don’t know if I would include this one. Repeated applications to join the forum including e-mails to staff have resulted in zero responses. Appears to be a club closed to new members.

The closest thing is here:

http://www.cyclingforums.com/

Occasionally plagued by serious spam problems, but it’s a fairly hefty forum with a fair amount of participation. The Power Training Forum is decent (you’ll recognize some names from here), but you won’t find many pros or very experienced riders hanging out helping people. Lots of opinions, though…

Sorry about that - we have been getting hit hard by spambots. I recently made some changes in registration and that seems to have slowed.

Now to sort through the ~3900 registraitions for real users. Your account was activated.

Sorry about that - definately not a private club for members - there are enough of those in UT.

Our local shop had a similar problem with its forum a year or so back and it was a royal PITA. I helped them with verifying registrations so I know what you have in front of you.

Thanks for activating my account.
