Cycling around Ft. Detrick, MD?

Question for those who live or work near Ft. Detrick. Are there any good and SAFE cycling routes for a quick (90 min) weekday morning ride?

I would check out the Frederick Pedalers cycling club. Do a few rides with them, and you should get a good feel for the best cycling routes in that area. Frederick is a LOT more crowded than it used to be, but there is still good cycling in that area.

Check out the Cumberland Valley Cycling Club website. We’re about 30 minutes from Frederick to the west. Lots of rural farm roads with low traffic and good surfaces (except for now, when they are covered with snow and ice). The website has some cue sheets, or you can contact me for more ideas.
