CW-X Insulator tights - How warm are they, and is the sizing chart accurate?

I’m interested in getting a pair of CW-X Insulator PerformX tights for Winter running (and possibly as a base layer for Winter cycling). Unfortunately, there is nowhere local to check them out or try them on for size, so…

How thick & warm are the Insulator tights? Are they suitable as an outer (only) layer for Winter running in the Midwest? Are they suitable as a Winter cycling baselayer?

Have you found their sizing chart to be accurate (length & tightness)?

They are warmer than my 2XU tights. They were adequate for me down to 5-10F (before dawn) with 10mph winds running an easy pace. They run just a little short for my 5’11" height. I just use slightly longer socks. They are warm enough that my limit is keeping my feet warm and face warm. I do however have a pair of Sugoi tights that are even slightly warmer, but don’t have as good of compression.

I can wear them up to about 35F, then they become a little too warm.

i got my first and only pair eight years ago. They are still holding up very well despite having a few holes develop in the last few years.

As for warmth, they were warm enough that i ran in them in the mid-teens with windchill of ~0. This was back in the days when it actually got ridiculously cold a few times a year in NYC. I am 174 cm and was at 75 kg back then, and wore a size small.

A few years later i got into cycling but didn’t have money to buy all the necessary gears, so i wore them for the winter. i was at ~69 kg during this time, and it still fits quite well. I think i’ve ridden them in mid 20’s a few times. These days they are on cold weather commuting duties as i prefer leg warmers. Overall i’d say they are solid and worth the money

What do you weigh and what size do you wear?

5’11" 160-173 (off season is a bitch) I’m pretty sure they are mediums… x-mas gift from the wife 2 years ago.
