Phew - someone has, at last, produced a production set of bars copying the british track cycling squad. I did wonder how long it would take.
It’s quite a sensible idea really - move the nasty aerodynamics of the arms away from the very aero base bar.
It’s a question why the setup ended this way, either:
- more aero to make distance between arms/pads and bar
or, as was explained for Sastre when he changed to TTT bar - he simply wants the handgrips of the basebar to be much lower than the pads, and since the TTT bar has no drop, this is the only way. (In this case, I would select another aero-bar - but a pro needs to keep the sponsor stuff)
