Cutting of blackwell wrist relief extensions

somehow i feel like cutting almost an inch of the front end of the extension so my hands won´t have to move when shifting. i´m using da shifters, did anybody cut that much off before? any troubles/ideas with the internal clamping of thehifters?

I dont think you can cut them there. The bars have differing thickness near the barcon area. As far cable routing, it would not be a problem. However, there may be a solution. Move the bars back some in the basebar mount. I also played with the rotation of extention and arm rest pad. This helped a great deal.

i cut them down from the rear, not the front. i have about 1cm from the mount.

You can cut the alloy extensions 3cm with no problem, the carbon extensions can be cut a maximum of 2cm. The carbon extensions have a alloy sleeve in them so they won’t crack.

thanks john, will the shifters´ clamping mechanism still be able to have a secure grip in the remaining tube?
talking about the internal alloy sleeved carbon extensions

Yes, that is why you can only cut 2cm off the carbon extensions.
