Who all is using custom made bike shoes (Rocket 7, etc) and what do you think of them? I am seriously considering them - I’d wait for the off season to go through the process.

I’ve never used them because I have no trouble getting a good fit with most brands, but if you have fit problems or just want the absolute lightest etc, they make sense.

I had a really poor experience with Rocket 7…I guess I can see why they went belly up and took a lot of my money…live and learn I suppose. I am now very happy in Specialized shoes.

ON a positive note, I went with the Shimano Custom Fit shoes (TR-70’s in my case); they’re kind of like ski boots in that they heat them up in an oven, and then vacuum fit them to your feet. They’re phenomenally comfortable, and are easily the best shoes I’ve ever had. Cheaper than the full blown custom like you could get from Bont, etc.
