The wife and I are running away from the Northeast Winter to run in shorts and swim without chlorine. We’re staying at a resort about 1.5 miles N of Puerto Morelos between Cancun and Playa del Carmen. I found a website that has historical averages, but not current water temp. I’m guessing that it’s about 75 degrees, so that we’d do the vast majority of our swimming without a wetsuit, but might be able to use one for longer swims. Anyone know better?
It’s been a few years since I was there in March…don’t bother with a wetsuit. If you are stating at the Grand Mayan, be very careful of the coral. Best to walk up the beach a bit. Have fun!
If I were going down to dive, I’d wear a very thin (1mm) skinsuit, sure wouldn’t wear anything to swim in. Hi 70s I’d guess
Staying at Excellence Riviera Maya. Picked it since it appears to have 1 of the better/ more swimmable beaches, and a large coral reef 1/2 mile offshore. Looking forward to the wife kayaking next to me and swimming along the reef checking out the fishies
