I really can’t understand why the NYPD has charged CGJ, at least based on the footage that has been made public so far. His lawyer says there is nothing in the video he’s reviewed, and if he’s right, it really doesn’t seem to have warranted a “perp walk”.
He has counter-sued the woman.
Yeah, it’s kind of a weird case. It’s only a misdemeanor charge. From my understanding he touches her leg? I can absolutely see a guy like that being a total jerk and not stop touching her when she asked, though. I’d love to be his lawyer on this. He’s going to make a ton defending him on this misdemeanor rap.
From what I heard on the TV news, he’s facing charges that could theoretically get him a 12 month jail sentence.
But I also heard, and some of the video seems to support this, that the woman was following him around and had allegedly been drinking.
In the video when he touches her leg, he’s leaning across his own girlfriend and it seems to be more of a reassuring touch as he’s talking to her. Her body language certainly doesn’t seem to indicate anyone is agitated.
