Has anyone experienced problems with the calibration changing once it is set? This morning on my ride it was calibrated at 225 then at the end of the ride it had slipped to 210, is this normal? I did warmup 15’ prior to the initial calibration. Thanks.
Mine does that everytime I use it. I am not sure that the power data is really all that accurate given that it does this. I can re-calibrate several times during a 2 hour ride and it always changed
It could be my imagination, but it seems to me that mine stayed more consistent when I was using it with my old gatorskin tire. Now I am using the Conti Trainer tire, and I seem to have more issues with the calibration bouncing around. None of the swings are as big as the one in the original post, though. Usually more like going from 2.8 to 2.7, etc.
Have you tried double calibrating it the first time? Both of ours are usually pretty stable…

Some people do the warmup in “cal mode”, with no substantial load on the tire, rather than apply some braking force (edit: this is a mistake…you SHOULD have some load turned on, heats tire more). Also consider the wheel speed at which you are running in the warmup prior to cal. It affects the tire temperature I believe, as a “duty cycle” of deformation heating at the roller. Don’t go slow, warmup with a decent wheel speed, not super slow and lazy.
a trainer tire (tacx or conti) really stabilizes things…
