CSCS Training

I was searching for a resource to study for the CSCS exam and wanted to know if there were any major changes made from the text, Essentials of Strength and Conditioning, NSCA. Thanks.

It has been while since I took the exam, but I doubt the text book has changed that much. Basic anatomy, physiology, and the chemistry behind how the muscles work hasn’t changed. (not being smart butt either by that statement) When I took the exam, I looked through the older and current study guides/main text book and there were slight changes.

Do make sure you know the chemistry behind how a muscle works.

Thank you.

Edition or volume whatever it is is now testing on the 3rd edition/volume. All the info is basically the same BUT the questions could be worded, asked, proposed differently. Test is taken from the book not other sources so know that book front to back. And yes what the other responder said. Study everything, pictures, tables, etc. Take the practice exams offered by the NSCA ($25 on amazon I think). If you have any other questions or need anything PM me. I just finished and also came from a school that is built around the NSCA.

When you pass the exam don’t think you know everything it is just the foundation, build your own school of thought of it. Good luck!
