Oh-my-god…
Baaaadddd flashback…
The Crue, Dooodd!!!
I remember seeing Motley Crue when they came through NYC on their first US tour. I was working at one of THE Hard Rock/Metal guitar stores of the day, and everybody came out to that show - the next big thing, and all that. Ironically, it felt a lot like the time I saw Nirvana play a college party - the “Man, these guys are gonna be HUGE!!!” vibe.
They tore tha roof of the mother F***'er.
Shows I’ve seen with the same vibe:
The Crue 1st US tour
Nirvana, dorm party
Mookie Blaylock, before they changed the name to Pearl Jam
Living Colour at CBGB’s
Soul Asylum before they broke big, playing on the lawn behind a college dorm
Joe Satriani at the bottom line record release show for his first album
We’ve got some bad boy boogie woogie for you boys!
“I got my finger in the pie
My hand in the cookie jar
It’s just a lick and a promise
In the back seat of my car”
ten hard!
weigh nuff!
on 2!
