115 mile ride with “the last two hours were really tough”
1 mile warm up the track
12x 1 mile repeats.
Go time on 6:30 (like a swim release time)
Started at 6:00 pace then last 3 or 4 were around 5:15
1 mile cool down.
That sounds like quite a workout. Its not too surprising, however, since it really isn’t too different than if he raced a 70.3 race. He just had 3+ hours of easier riding at the begining, then essentially did the bike and run of a 70.3 race. The other thing to consider is the fact he didn’t race very well (for him) at Vineman 70.3, and he didn’t race (or didn’t finish?) Calgary 70.3 despite it being on his schedule. Looks like they did a race sim workout, b/c he didn’t get as many race miles as he might have planned.
Scott during that workout was also hesitant on Crowie overtraining because he also said he was really tired!
He said that Monday morning after Crowie got done swimming 5k. I think anyone would be tired…
It may not be cool, but when I’m golfing, I’m definitely sporting the turned-up collar. It saves my neck from sun exposure (yes, I use suncreen, but this is extra protection).
However, I’m definitely not someone considered to having much “game”. This may be part of the reason, although probably not the only one
