Anyone know what size frame craig alexander is riding? He and I are the same height at 5’10", but his orbea looks tiny compared to mine(54).
Craig home stayed with us a few years ago. He is an absolutely fantastic guy. He is not, however, anywhere near 5’10".
"how tall would you guess? "
My wife talked to him at Kona. She guesses maybe 5’9".
I honestly don’t know how tall he is. Craig stayed with us for a few days a few years ago and I also chatted with him the day after his first race at Kona. I’m 5’ 9 1/2". I thought he was an inch or more “less tall” than me, but I could be wrong. I do know that he is a class act and an excellent ambassador for the sport.
In the January 2009 issue of Triathlete Magazine, there’s a two page spread on “Checking In Pro Bike” (pg 52 - 53) with Chrissie on the left and Crowie on the right. They listed his bike frame as “2008 Orbea Ordu, 53 cm”. I’m wondering if this is a custom frame just for him or if it’s a typo (since you can only purchase a 48, 51, 54, 57)?
This is not a typo. I confirmed it with him because I thought it seemed small (and off standard size offering, but that’s what he came back with. I would not at all be surprised if Orbea has the ability to do a one-off for their pro athletes… it’s something I’ll have to follow up with them on.

I believe he rides a 51cm, but by other bike standards, the Orbea Ora’s & Ordu’s run large to might equate to a 53cm on another brand.
There was 2007 Triathlete Mag with a section on all of the bikes of the pro’s @ Kona. Bunch of pro’s bikes in it, L-Bentley, Tim Deboom, Thunderbear, Chris Lieto, Leanda Cave & Crowie. He rode a 51cm that year.
What’s up with him and Shimano? He must have struck a major sponsorship deal with them Switched his Wheelset from ZIPP? …using Pro Missle bars (distributed by Shimano) over Profile Design?
IMHO I know the Profile Cobra T+2 base bar & clip-ons may not be the most aero, but they are unlimited in adjustability?
