probably just an optical thing (or not)…but, holly hell this looks crippling! not to mention the bike looks tiny.
and the kit is horrible…but i’m pulling for him!

i’d say its a decent fit…just a guess
.
well obviously whatever’s going on there works for him. you don’t think something looks odd though?
the hump in his back? he’s always had that…
the hump is where his GIANT-sized lung is… either that or the oversized blood sump he had installed…
Take a look at most ITU racers from the side and you’d say their bikes look small “on them” too…
that livestrong madone+bonty wheelset is absolutely sick. any details on his new shoes or is he still wearin those rocket 7s?

Yes, his seat looks low and he’s way too upright…seat might be too far forward too.
There’s no reason to think he’s going to race on that bike is there? And do you even know if he trained on it, or was this just a photo op?

he said that it was his ‘new bike for the tour down under’, so i guess he will be racing on it. it doesn’t sound like he’s done any training on it…he just got it the other day.
the seat does look low in that pic, but again, who knows with a cell phone pic (i’m guessing).
the hump probably adds to the uncomfortable look. what is that anyway…kyphosis?
He’s riding 105, his fit looks bad…What’s his intention in this tour? Just a simple fitness check?

is he really riding 105 or was that just a nutty rumour based on the 105 degree (heat) that he posted about on twitter.
I’m not sure…my take away impression was that this bike has 105 components and that he’s going to auction it off after the race.
The bike has Sram Red on it.
If that’s a cell phone pic, my phone screws up the image just like that when you try to take a photo of a moving object. What happens is the image is captured super slowly so the object is moving while the sensor is capturing data, compressing the moving object relative to the background. He probably looks much more stretched out in reality.
I dig the new astana kit, but that black and yellow bike is a bit much.
7 tour wins says he can sit how he wants.
did people actually think this bike had 105 components??? wow thick skulls

looking at the noise in that photo…it must be a cell pic. if the cell cam scanned from right to left (relative to the pic), it would be compressed.

i assume that wacky idea came from this thread http://forum.slowtwitch.com/…_string=105;#2162095 .
i’d like to ‘think’ that the poster was purposefully twisting words for his own amusement…but who knows. he’s heavily invested in sram,
but who can resist 105!
I’ll be the first to admit that my skull occassionally goes thick.

Bingo, Tibbs.
Armstrong has always had that hunch/bump in his back - something about a childhood back injury. He’s also always sat more upright in the classic road postion than others with a higher front end and a bit more compact positioning. The frame he rides supposedy says “58” on it, but the real measurements are that it’s a 56.
He can ride anyway he wants to as far as I am concerned. Works for him!
