Critique my position (pre-crash)

i’m currently in a lot more laid back position now than when these pics were taken (at the ToC TT this past saturday). but, dave bunce of ISM clicked these pics while the rubber side was still down and i don’t know if i’ve ever published a pic of the position i ride, so, thanks dave. it was nice while it lasted

of course your seat is too high…

i never really agreed with it, but you are going to get yelled at for that straw i bet! i’m just sayin’

.

I just can’t believe you rode an exhibition ToC TT in an aero helmet, aero position, etc. but NOT a skinsuit.

+1 the jersey is omg so bad

the rest of the position looks really great and aero.

Maybe he didn’t have a ST speedsuit and he had to take advantage of a chance like that to advertise the website!

I can expertly tell from those 2 pictures that you are BOTH more confident and more comfortable than all the pro’s.

That being said, the jersey is too baggy on you, no shoe covers, and you didn’t shave.

Otherwise, you look great on the bike. Nice photoshopping making the background look blurry like you are doing mach 5.

I’m jealous, I admit it.

You should have posted it anonymously, it would be fun to watch people trying to correct you’re position.

Obviously the position looks good.

I am just intrigued by how much of the saddle you seem to be sitting on.

I think A QR would be more suited for you  Kidding of course looks comfy to me.

well, that’s it. i was not going to not wear a slowtwitch kit, but, i don’t have a slowtwitch skinsuit (or any skinsuit). and i’m sorry but i’m not going to wear shoe covers! not that they don’t help, just, it’s going too far for me, since i’m not a TTer per se.

the helmet i borrowed from paul thomas. i was glad i was wearing it, it saved my ears in the crash.

I want to know what the straw is attached to. I don’t see a water bottle anywhere. Is this some sort of new between the arms in-line bottle with a straw?

Is (was) it reasonable to expect a Bont review in the near future assuming you were also going to get a pair of sub-8/9/10 shoes?

Where do I get myself a complete Slowtwitch kit? My blue and white Tarmac is begging me to wear one on her.

i’ll be publishing some more pics of the bike (standing still) and you’ll see a horizontal water bottle cage between the extensions, just in front of the stem. i get this rather stiff-ish vinyl or some sort of plastic tubing from my local neighborhood hardware store, drill a hole in a water bottle slightly smaller than the tube’s OD, shove it thru, presto, drink system (unrefillable).

Get your head lower, although you did crash already in that position, so maybe head lower wouldn’t work out too well…

Pinned numbers? Get some 3M #77 Spray Glue.

Water bottle? Man-up and dehydrate!

In all seriousness, I hope you heal up well. Did you hands make it through the crash without losing too much skin?

So what about the wrist relief extensions do you find more comfortable than an “normal” or even a lazy s bend extension. Based on the two shots I don’t see how they have you wrist positioned any differently. Do they provide a variety of positons that alter the wrist angle? Just wondering.

Glad to hear that you’re up and about and weren’t too badly damaged.

you know, i never really have scraped up my hands when i’ve crashed. i seem to prefer landing on my c’bone and my ribs.

wrist reliefs i love. s bend, no. lazy s, yes. and felt’s f bend, yes, that’s a great extension. and, bontrager’s new extension is very wrist reliefy, i’m going to like that a lot, tho i haven’t ridden it yet. extensions are now finally ready for prime time.

well, that’s it. i was not going to not wear a slowtwitch kit, but, i don’t have a slowtwitch skinsuit (or any skinsuit).

At least you could have worn a smaller jersey though! That thing looks about 2 sizes too big…oh, and 3M Super 77 adhesive works awesome for attaching the number

Also, I think your hands could be rotated up a little. The way you grab those extensions actually increases the FA of your hands than in your thumb was more “horizontal”. Look in a mirror and check it out yourself…

For that short of a TT you could also probably be rotated a bit forward and lower as well…or figure out how to better “shrug” so that your head isn’t popping up and increasing your FA.

Looks like and A-one or a-two, but yeah I’d like to read a review.
