I got fitted today for my new bike. The builder is going to get started this next week and I just wanted some opinions. Everything felt good on the set-up but I am sure someone can find something wrong
O.K. I’ll start.
You need a front wheel.

What’s the event?
If its olympic or shorter, you should be lower. IMO
I’m going to assume that your fitter knows more than me, but you look to be riding pretty slack.
Did he happen to give you the frame geometry by chance?
The FINMAN thread is going, and you’re looking for input on your position? Man, you’re outta luck!
Plus, it looks like you ride for Astana, who are we on ST to give advice on your position??
O.K. I’ll start.
You need a front wheel.
You have a bit of a hump in your back and need your stack and reach and/or or saddle position changed, but I’m no expert and will leave that to those who know better.
I have to ask: Why are you sitting on an American Flag jersey sponsored by Sonic?
I am training for a marathon, then an ironman the next day, and then a marathon the following day. He is such a douche bag.
I have it somewhere but I do think it is a little slack (77.5) or so with an offset
.
Think maybe if you raise the seat a bit it will give you a bit more pedal stroke and flatten your back out a bit. then you could start placing in AG and have your picture taken with your kid and the mayor of town you competed.

Serious about the seat part. Maybe a inch to inch and a half more. But I am still a newbie so take that with a grain of salt.
you have an american flag jersey coming out of your butt
.
I don’t know what distance you are training for but I ride with a longer and slightly lower position for HIMs and definitely much lower for anything shorter than that.
Some of it comes down to personal preference, for instance some prefer a compact cockpit like yours.

Your fitter needs a new printer. That one sucks.
I would say that there is a reason most people are giving different advice on a few different things, it’s because they don’t really know.
Seat height looks pretty good, I think if you went up your heel would go up. If you get knee pain, then you may need to go up.
Second, you are low enough that your shoulders sit below the peak of your back, that was one of J Cobb’s aerodynamic tips if I remember right. You would have to try going lower to see what happens. It may be that the peak on your back doesn’t come down a lot, just your shoulders in which case you won’t be gaining as much as you are not shrinking the frontal area.
Third, work on lowering your head! that will help your speed as much as anything.
Overall it looks like a good fit, if you’ll notice above I have no actual disagreements with what you posted.
I do think you could go lower but I’m guessing you fitter tried a few things and hopefully you guys ended up where you are based on your feedback. If he didn’t try steepening you to go lower, try talking with Mr. Tiemeyer about it before he starts welding and get his feedback.
memo to johan: lance needs a better tt position.
If you don’t trust the guy building you a bike to know what he is doing then you are wasting your money.

Not the case. I just enjoy the comments on positions and this was the first time I could be the give the critics a shot
Team Astana! Did you buy that jersey after LA joined? Have you gotten The Shack gear yet?!
