Just set up my softride with a new front end and re-adjusted the saddle tilt. I feel pretty comfortable on it right now, but I have not made any long rides on the new setup. I should be putting in about 30-40 miles later on today. My biggest worry is that I had to lower the saddle nose a touch to get comfortable. From the standing and looking at the saddle level, it seems pretty flat. When I sit on the bike, it feel a little like the nose is lower than the back of the saddle. Not slipping of the nose though, so is that okay?
Hey, dude: the new ride’s looking good. If you want, bring that sucker out to Zion X roads ride today and I’ll give you my thoughts. Bring an allenwrench or two
Thanks. That explains the saddle adjustment I made. I am going to give it one ride today and see how I feel. Funny thing, it feels like this bike is set up a lot lower than my road bike. That may be due to the change in seat angle creating that feeling. I am way more forward in this setup.
Have you lowered your seat about 2" yet? You also need to get your front end way down, I can’t tell, but can you mount the aero bars and pads to the underside of the base bar? Re-post w/ new saddle height pics.
Moving your seat forward, down tthe beam, will bring it down and closer to the pedals AND allow you to lower your bars and pads. EAsier than fooling with the beam for starters.
