Critique my position (16)

Yes, it is one of the $599 2004 Cervelo P2K’s in size 54.

I am 5’ 9", 31" inseam. Kind of long torso/short legs.

I took the measurements from my old bike, and tried to make it the same.

The seat hight feels great, no rocking of hips.

My sholders on the other hand, always sway a little side to side when I apply power, as in these pictures.

It feels great, but any suggestions are welcome.

you’re one of the few people who has gotten a better deal on a p2 than me and I’m jealous! Did you add those brake levers/saddle/crank from an old bike?

Great deal and your position looks good as well! Happy riding.

I know it’s a cliche, but seat too high?

no it is not…

t~

I have the same bike, circa 2005, and am about the same measurements. I love it. Your position looks aero, but you need to tuck in your knees closer together when pedaling. Also I’d try to raise the seat up about the amount of the period at the end of this sentence.

Finally real men don’t use the Smith machine.

It feels great, but any suggestions are welcome.

Keep an eye out for paint issues…

Good looking bike. Hell of a deal.

Position looks pretty good. Only comment I have is that it looks, to me, like you are too far forward on the bike. Not much, but, it appears your center of gravity is too far forward on the front wheel. However, I notice you are riding high on the nose of the saddle. Do you always ride that far forward? Looks like if you slid your butt back on the seat (not much), you would be perfect.

Funny,Klehner.

Top tube cable entry area already has a chip like that. It happened when I changed the base bar and let the aerobars dangle.

Did you do anything about it or just leave it? It looks like you’re getting (or got) some serious oxidation on the aluminum.

Cervelo replaced it with a new P2SL for $350.

It seems really a great deal. You got yourself the right to pay for a problem that (most likely) wasn’t your fault, and shouldn’t had happen!!! :-)))

how much do you squat on that Smith machine?

It might be due to camera angle in the frontal pic but your left forearm /elbow looks higher than your right, check distance between bottom of armrest and top of bar?

I changed to these parts:

Fizik Arione seat, Vision flat base bar and brakes, 170 mm Truvativ Roleur Carbon crankset with a GXP bottom bracket.

One interesting thing to note is that you got a brand new Wolf carbon fork instead of the one originally shipped with 2004 Cervelos. This makes the bike an even more smashing deal! Good luck with it!

Why the “shy shorts” ?

just change your shorts and call it a day.

Shoulders rocking ? That’s generally your self control…not the set up. Work on it or else.

Oh, yeah I forgot to take off the “modesty” shorts. Not to popular walking around the firehouse showing off your “package”. They are probably jealous…

Just went out to check the bar and pads, they are even, I am not…

Your legs look hairy…
