If you’ve seen my threads on here, you know I had a problem getting comfy on this bike. So I’m selling it and using my old steel bianchi for the forseable future.
Great bike, nothing wrong with it save a scratch or two. Upgraded wheels/saddle/aerobars.

bike didn’t sell, no bids - started auction at 50% what I paid for it.
too pricey, just no interest in botiques, or lousy ad copy?
I would say a couple of things:
Size - Not the most popular size.
Brand - Not well known
Starting price - The biggy. You gotta play the Ebay game. Starting bids that high are very hard to sell. Start it much lower ($50) and hopefully you will get some bidding wars. Risky…but generally works out better. Also - the ad is quoted that MRSP is $1200?..and you added some upgrades $??..and want at least $800? People love to think they are getting a bargain. Play up the upgrades (with cost).
Bad copy, poor pic, ugly color, Alu frame…
Problem with bikes like yours is that they’re not sexy. People dont care how much you paid for it or what it’s worth. It’s not sexy. Look at all the bike porn on here. Same bike over and over and over again. Carbon this, great decals and what not. In the end its the same damn bike, but people eat that crap up. Go figure. And whats worse, they can go just as fast on a bike for a third the cost.
I just won a 10speed ultegra leader bike for less than half its worth and I was the only one bidding. It wasn’t a sexy bike but all I needed was the build kit.
So what you need to do is invest some time making that rig look SEXY. get better photos, post links to reviews, SELL it to the reader. Most of the people thumbing through the ads are not looking for what you have, so you need to grab their attention and make them WANT what you have.
And never buy a blue bike again unless you intend to keep it FOREVER. Sorry but its true, paint jobs sell bikes. Buy sex appeal in a bike. Look at how much the 10 year old beat to shit colnago frames are going for all day long.
Looking again, you need these things…
Good copy but make it more excited!!! USe catch phrases like I’LL REALLY MISS THIS BIKE!!! and CHECK OUT THESE UPGRADES!!! Cheesy shit works. The car industry thrives on it.
Take the pedals off!!! those make it look cheap.
Invest a few bucks in a better looking seatpost or just put something in it for the pics but explain that it’ll be a little different when its shipped.
If you can, change around the setup to look more aggressive and take pics from a better angle to make it look like a real racer. raise the saddle up a bit to make it look like a steeper drop… things like that. It doesn’t need to be setup for you to ride it, it needs to be set up to look like someone else what to ride it.

Ok, Need more & better pics. Even if not in the ad, post links to a webpage with them. THAT AD COPY SUCKS. sorry it does. The last paragraph of the qoute just makes excuses get rid of it.

That’s pretty much the same bike, with an upgraded drivetrain & aerobar…except in this case the seller “upgraded” the 10 speed campy to 9 speed ultegra.
