Creeping down seatpost on Felt F1R...manufacturing defect?

My seatpost keeps sliding down slowly over a couple rides and will not stay at the same level. The binder bolt is as tight as it can be. This fortunately has not cracked the carbon seatpost (came with the frame and fork). I am a bike mechanic and have not put any grease in the seat tube or on the post and have never come across this problem before. I’m going to contact Felt, but wondered if this was a common experience with someone else.

I had a similar problem last summer with a campy aluminum seatpost. I have a Look (OLD!) with an odd seatpost binder and 25.0 post. I replaced the bolt in the binder to make sure it wasn’t the problem and ended up getting a new post. It turned out I had slightly deformed the old one and when it shifted, it made the problem worse over time. Not sure a carbon post would do this but replacing the post fixed my problem. I’m a little over 200 lbs so that was a lot of weight on a skinny post.

Carbon is very slippy. Try using hair spray on your seat post and reinserting it. It worked for me.
