I took my six year old son with me to pick up a race packet for a race this weekend. The packet pickup was at our local bike shop. Needless to say I started browsing and started looking at a new pair of wheels. My son looked at the wheels and said “humm, strange, no rim tape”. This made me realize that I’ve potentially created the next generation of tri-geek. The mechanic behind the counter just laughed and told me to bring him back in a few years and he would hire him. Guess all those hours building new wheels and bikes has kind of rubbed off on my son. This is the same kid that has watched the IMAZ video coverage at least 10 times. He also wants a lighter bike so he can ride faster….
Anyone else guilty of raising the next gen of athletes?
