Crashing your bike on a descent

is not so bad when it is wet. slid for about 10 metres (was on a corner). i can see why it is good to shave yr legs, my legs were barely grazed apart from my hip which i landed on. damned crash fucked up my horns tho and my right one is now bent inwards.

thankfully judo taught me how to fall in those kinda situations.

I have to agree about the Judo. I took it in HS and I am sure it has saved me many a broken bone in the ensuing many years. Nothing beats knowing how to fall safely, instinctively.

Just heard from a pro whose stem on his bike broke when he was doing 55 mph on a downhill. Just coming back from those injuries.

The important questions: what kind of stem was it that broke? What was the weight of the rider?

yeah i did judo when i was 10-12 and i think it’s saved me from many an injury. it’s good if you’re playing rugby too cos u can get opponents on the ground no sweat, even if theyre twice your size at the age of 13…

I’ll see if I can find out. I heard this second hand and we didn’t ask those questions as we were talking more about getting him back on PC’s. I am sure the rider was not heavy as he is a pro cyclist.

Judo is for wimps. 'Nuff said.

Here Here… Coming from a fellow judoka, Crashed goig about 20+ when the front wheel caught, Instant endo… rolled out of it and ended up on my feet a good distance away from my bike… then proceeded to slip because of my road shoes and look cleats.
