Would it be good to have both and choose what to use according to the race course?
A search would probably yield some good results but I think you will find that swapping different length crankarms out without proper training mileage will not yield the results you want. Sure it used to be all the race among road racers to use one length on the road bike and longer on the time trial bike but even a 2.5 mm change in length requires recruitment of a slightly different muscle orientation. I have a road, crit, and TT/Tri bike and all 3 use the same length cranks but the saddle on my TT bike is 0.5 cm higher than on the road and crit bikes and even that provides a somewhat noticeable difference between when I ride the TT bike on Tuesday and the crit bike at the weekly crit on Wednesday!
Yeah, I know it would require a adaptaion time. What I can not see is if I will actually have a benefit from using a 175 crankset. Like, does it make biking any faster?
I will search the posts and net and see what I can get!! I will keep you guys posted!!
