Crank arm length...165...really?

I’m building up a new tri bike for my girlfriend. She currently rides a Trek road bike and has Bontrager cranks with 165mm crank arms. She’s 5’2". Should I keep with 165 or can I go to 170 where I have much greater choice among varieties. It seems like there are few choices at the 165 length. Your thoughts? Thanks, David

I put my wife on 165s and it seemed to make sense to me. I mena I ride 175s and 172.5s and my legs are liek a foot longer than hers. oh, and if she is riding on 650’s (which in my opinio she should be) it helps alot with the cornering clearance.

mmmm, I'd probably stay on the short side too. Unless your gf is burly, she probably does not have the mass to really benefit from the extra leverage. Also, you'll be looking for her to get low, and shorter cranks will help keep her knees out of her chest.
