I recently ordered the craft race top (long w/ full zipper). and it’s too short for my taste.
1 - Is their training top longer? suitable for racing?
2 - I’m primarily a long course racer… is the craft tri-suit only for shorter races?
3 - Have you tried the tyr men’s race singlet?
4 - any other recommendations for race clothing?

Yep, the training top is probably 3" longer. The race top (not the “short” race top) leaves some mid-section showing on me, while the training top goes to exactly my waist. The quality is excellent, it’s just not as tight for the same size.
I have the training top as well and really like it. The full zip is great for ventilization on hot days. Careful when you wash it. Wash it alone and in cold water. The first time I washed it it was with some other cycling stuff and other colors bleed easily on it.
do you race in it?
Yes I train and race in it. It will not be as light as the race top because of the length but under a wetsuit it works fine.
I have both the TYR singlet and the Craft race top.
I like the craft top more because of the lighter material and it seems to be cooler when I am in a hot race. The TYR singlet is a little longer but compared to the Craft top I like the craft more because it is shorter and when I in the aero position it is nice and tight in front and back and no loose material like the TYR top. I think they are hard to compare because of they are so different.
I also agree a short top works better under the wetsuit
I am in the same boat. I cannot believe that not a single tri-clothing mfr makes a slightly longer in the back tri singlet (tight/stretch fit, breathable, fast drying with 1-2 pockets). I have a long torso and have tried TYR, Sugoi, Pearl Izumi and all left me with the “tri tan” stripe across my lower back.
I have raced in a tri suit (TYR) and the zipper is too short if you need to take a pee (long course races). But nice fit, and no tri-tan. I am looking at the new Ironman/Sugoi/Descente tri suits as an alternative. They all have longer zippers and 2 pockets.

try the new Descente tri top. Skin tight, swimmable, two rear/side pockets the perfect size for gel, nice long zipper, and MORE COVERAGE. Even with my longish torso I have minimal if any mid-riff going on. Tip, wash before you wear as it’s a little itchy brand new. Just picked up another top yesterday.
