Cracked Giro Helmet and Goodwill Replacement?

Does anybody know if Giro replaces cracked/crashed helmets under a goodwill policy? Seems like they or another major brand does. Sent them a message, but hadn’t heard back. $140 for a new Atmos is nothing compared to an injury free melon, but can always find something else to spend money on.

Um, no they don’t.

they do offer a crash replacement discount. I’ve used it.

My bad, you’re right they do…Go to www.giro.com and look under the FAQS page, which is under the GIRO Info tab. The last info topic is about crash replacement and instructions on what to do. Wish I had known about that when I pitched the Atmos I crashed on last year.

You could always sue Giro for because the helmet didn’t do a good enough job of protecting your skull. Obviously you went thinking correctly if you didn’t use the crash replacement policy.

I sent an email to giro’s costumers service but have not heard back. Its been over a week. How is their costumer service? I guess I will give them a call this afternoon.

On the website there is informtion on what to do. Why not simply send the helnet back to them and see what they say? It’s not like you’re going to use it again anyhow, right? In short, what have you got to lose?

I called them to replace the plastic web for the Roc Loc and they sent me one free along with new pads. The first package arrived opened and no Roc Loc. I called and they sent another. They were very courteous and responsive.

Just had a similar experience with a crash. called them on the phone. 30% off on a new one, they ask fo the make and model of the one you crashed on and mail you a new one, if you do not have the things they are asking for on the inside, like if the stickers were sweated off, no Biggie. They told me 2 weeks till my new atmos arrived, it was like 5 days.

Bravo giro.

Thanks. Just talked to Giro also and they said 30% off retail which is $122 for an Atmos. I will wait another 6 months until I can ride again and order through Performance or Keith’s for about the same price. I really need to keep the old one as a teaching point for kids who think they don’t need one and might actually be persuaded to wear one.
