Cover a fulcrum 7 or buy new rear - recommend

I have a new fulcrum 7 wheel that came with my bike. Is it worth it to cover that with a wheel cover or can you recommend a rear wheel for a cover. Roughly $200 to spend. I’m thinking, cover the 7 and save the money.

thanks in advance for any help

Eee… that racing 7 is a big log. The covers mate better (I find) with a deep rim. Also Wheelbuilder says the covers wont work on Fulcrum / Campagnolo FWIW

I would say save the money… definitively.

and I don’t know about the Fulcrum 7, but my wheelcover was made for a Fulrum 5… and it works fine on my race lites and mavic open as well

Fulcrum 7s are a good stiff durable wheel, but really not designed to go racing, if you don’t mind the weight get the wheel covers and have fun
.

My wheel cover is on a dusty old Mavic CXP30 that I bought on ebay for €18. Repacked the bearings and it´s perfect.

Keep an eye out for a deep section rear wheel secondhand, good luck.

thanks, I didn’t know about the covers not working with the fulcrum’s. I have a set of Campy’s that I know won’t work. The last set I have is a 10 yr old pair of ultegra mavic op’s. Maybe if I rebuild them with bearings and grease they’ll work.

thanks for the help

unless you are rich just cover the fulcrum 7!
