Court ruling on DeLay's PAC

Hilary Clinton is a big government, big spending, pro-union, anti-business, pro-tax liberal who believes government is the answer to most of our problems and is willing to confiscate my hard earned money to accomplish redistribution of wealth. Here are just a few examples: Rated 85% by the AFL-CIO, indicating a pro-labor voting record. (Dec 2003) Rated 21% by NTU, indicating a “Big Spender” on tax votes. (Dec 2003) Accepted money from organization associated with terrorists. (Oct 2000) Rated 35% by the US COC, indicating a inconsistent business voting record. (Dec 2003) Opposes merit pay for individual teachers. (Apr 2000) Vouchers would take money from public schools. (Oct 2000) More federal funding for schools. Where is it coming from? Ratify Kyoto (Sep 2000) Even her husband saw the problems for the US with Kyoto. Illegal Immigration: No stance on record “Vast right wing conspiracy”. (Dec 1999) Voted NO on cutting taxes by $1.35 trillion over 11 years. (May 2001) Increase spending for libraries. (Mar 2000)

are you somehow under the mistaken impression that GWB is not a big spender?

Last I checked he is fighting a war, however GWB wasn’t the question. I do agree most of our government representatives, including W are spending too much.

Nothing guaranteed here. My father is a military retiree and they have been chipping away at his benefits for 20 years. He pays out of his pocket for additional benefits. So don’t go there with that argument because by the time I retire I am not banking on that benefit and am planning for it now. As I should because its my responsibility not Uncle Sams. And just how is what little bit we do have constitute socialized medicine. I never said I am against people receiving benefits from their employers. I know who my employer is and in fact its you and every other American tax payer. For that I am grateful. Did I join the military for the “free” medical for life? Not a chance. Is it a nice perk if it happens. I still do not think it is the governments responsibility to ensure everyone has health care. (Boy am I getting off topic here). It gets back to personal responsibility. If I make a choice to work for an employer who is providing that benefit great, buts its not their responsibility its mine.

Sorry, vitus: (from nytimes.com):

LOS ANGELES, May 27 - A federal jury today acquitted Hillary Rodham Clinton’s former chief fund-raiser of charges that he underreported the costs of a glittery fundraising event in 2000 to the Federal Election Commission.

All in the interest of reporting balance, of course.

If it was in the NY Times it can’t be true… can it?

That should cover it.

“Activist judges”. Gotta be.

That’s so much bullshit. Whining “he did it too” is not balance. Balance would be to present reasonable arguments against the court ruling cited. I don’t post this because he’s a Republican and I’m a whiny liberal; I post it because DeLay is a sack of s* and a threat to our democracy. This particular case is merely the tip of the iceberg, as has been well documented in this forum. **

Ken,

Don’t know if you saw this or just didn’t have time to post it. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/07/04/AR2005070400924.html I was wondering what your thoughts are on Pelosi. Is she a sack of s*** too and a threat to our democracy:)?

To compare Pelosi with DeLay is a bit much. If Pelosi broke rules, she should be held accountable. DeLay is so surrounded by illegal and/or unethical behavior that he is a threat.

I love this kind of thought process. “My people break law they are bad. Your people break law they are evil.”

Keeping picking sides and drawing lines people. We will get what we deserve.
