They didn’t die so corrupt politicians could stuff the ballots in one party states like large cities in this country.
Off to prevent voter fraud; see you on Wednesday!
Of, and I won’t be talking to any voters, only precinct workers and judges.

Judge Dlott thus substituted her opinion for that of the Ohio legislature, which has enacted statutes that provide for poll watchers.
Of course, there is this Ohio law (emphasis added):
§ 3503.24. Application for correction of list or challenge of right to vote; hearing.
Application for the correction of any precinct registration list or a challenge of the right to vote of any registered elector may be made by any qualified elector of the county at the office of the board of elections not later than eleven days prior to the election. The applications or challenges, with the reasons for the application or challenge, shall be filed with the board on a form prescribed by the secretary of state and shall be signed under penalty of election falsification.
What’s the source for your claim, BK?
I don’t have one. Didn’t you see my sign-off line? The one that said I was “going crazy” This election has finally gotten to me ![]()
I did like her and the hubby’s house, though. Actually, I aspire to having digs of that sort one day in my dotage ;-))

Sorry if I’m missing the point, but what does 1 million Americans dying in wars have to do with the 2004 election?
The court ruling just got changed.
WASHINGTON — The Ohio Supreme Court issued a 4-3 ruling late Monday that gives a partial victory to Republican poll watchers who earlier had been denied by two federal judges.
Let the court fight begin!!! We need to set up a perimeter defense quickly. I’ll organize rear-area security details, lay in fighting holes and set up aiming stakes, get the LPs and OPs up and running and Semper Tri will train up a QRF and lead any counterattacks. I envision a reverse slope defense ![]()
Together, we can beat back these hordes of lawyers that will be descending upon our fair cities! We shall fight them on land, on sea and everywhere they attack!!!

Sorry, Ken. Keep fightin’ the good fight, my liberal brutha!!
CINCINNATI (AP) – A federal appeals court has cleared the way for challengers to be present at polling places in Ohio, ruling early Tuesday that their presence on Election Day is allowed under state law.
A three-judge panel of the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled 2-1 to grant emergency stays of two federal judges’ orders Monday that barred political parties’ voter challengers in Ohio. The judges also consolidated the two cases.
The court said that while there is a strong public interest in letting registered voters vote freely, there is also “strong public interest in permitting legitimate statutory processes to operate to preclude voting by those who are not entitled to vote.”

“It’s because the Bush administration cheats and lies and slanders while in office.”
Lame and unsubstantiated. You and Mikey Moore should smoke dope together.
“maybe. but i wouldn’t want to deal with someone that had absolutely no business being there accosting me as i tried to vote.”
“and i do think that the presence of republican pollsters(or any parties pollsters) would have greater negative impact than potential fraudalent voting.”
“my feeling is that had pollsters been allowed to show, that some would have been perfectly civil and would only speak up if there was an obvious problem. i also think there would be some that would have treated potential voters as scabs crossing a picket line…”
What’s the problem here? Traditionally Dems try to vote the graveyard and more recently illegals.
The Rep’s respond by intimidating voters at the polls.
The beauty of checks and balances. Isn’t this system great?!!!
A higher court reversed the ruling yesterday, because it amounted to prior restraint. The law provides for observers.
“who says republicans want every vote counted?”
Republicans only want LEGAL votes counted. Dems are not quite so circumspect, as history has repeatedly shown us.
The Dems ran to the Supreme Court seeking an emergency stay last night, and were turned down.
CRY HAVOC AND LET SLIP THE DOGS OF WAR!!!
That just makes it even more likely that the courts will finally get around to picking our President sometime in early December ![]()

“who says republicans want every vote counted?”
Republicans only want LEGAL votes counted. Dems are not quite so circumspect, as history has repeatedly shown us.
Edit: Republicans only want LEGAL REPUBLICAN votes counted. Dems are not quite so circumspect, as history has repeatedly shown us.
**Republicans only want LEGAL REPUBLICAN votes counted. Dems are not quite so circumspect, as history has repeatedly shown us. **
Tammany Hall? Boss Tweed? The Daly Machine? Marion Barry? Tweed workers giving out red cards to those voting Republican and blue cards to those voting Democrat?
I’ll go with circumspect. It makes it easier for me to choke down my breakfast in the morning with at least the illusion that elections are fair and open. ![]()

Which injustices are you referring to? “Every vote should count, count every vote”? “Let us see the votes!?”
Or as Jesse Jackson said “Let the winner be the winner and the loser be the winner (or something), but don’ let the loser and the winner be the winner…”. By that point, I gave up and switched over to the Japanese language station here. It made more sense ![]()

Don’t be so naive.
The democrat strategy is to encourage those not able to vote to vote anyway.
If you don’t realize this, you are either partisan or ignorant.
It’s sad.
any injustice where a legitimate vote goes unrecognized
It’s not so easy to determine “legitimate” and “unrecognized”, sometimes. In fact, there is NO WAY that every single vote will ever get counted. It’s never happened in over 200 years of polling, and I don’t foresee a circumstance in the immediate future where all “legitimate” votes are “recognized”.
The “chilling” effect that some speak of when being observed by poll watchers bears further study, though.
K
I am pointing out the traditional Dim method of influencing the vote in distinction to your highlighting a traditional Rep method.
I am not willing to give the Dems credit for learning a new trick.
Name calling. Truly the hallmark of a dizzying intellect.
“Name calling is a hallmark of a dizzying intellect”
Wow. Sail on, my boy, sail on.
“Our patience wears thin.”
I am torn. Do I comment on the use of the royal we or comment on the party going on in your head?
Nah. Discuss among yourselves.
“The “chilling” effect that some speak of when being observed by poll watchers bears further study, though.”
I heard a news story that M. Moore was covering the voting in Florida and Ohio with “hundreds of cameras” Now for the joke. Illegal to video the polls. Why? Reps used to do it to suppress the vote.
