OK, this observation floors me as being completely different than anything I would have expected from CBS in general or Katie Couric in particular. Couric as the heavyweight who got it right?

It’s not really that suprising, she has been a monumental disappointment for CBS, and her ratings are down there with Bush’s and our illustrious congress… This is a hail mary pass for Katie, probably her last, good thing she has a guarantee on her contract. Perhaps it is even more dasterdly than that. Maybe they sent her there to possibly not come back, now that would be a story worth reporting. Lots of accidents on the road over there, think they will let her anywhere outside the green zone??? Not that the green zone is any safe haven, but beats the mean streets of Bagdad…
