Lance and John beat me and my TTT partner by 12:46 over a hilly 27.3 mile course.
I think a mountain bike would let me take back 8-10 minutes, but I think he would still win.

Exactly…what kind of pace to mountain bikers hold in flat sections? Would a mountain bike slow a pro down from 30ish to 25mph?
If this is a serious question I’d go with maybe ;-). My best is 56 and I suspect LA can go maybe 10 minutes faster. It depends on the mountainbike. With knobbies, normal handlebars, and 44 x 11 topgear on 26 inch wheels, I might have a shot, but I’d still bet on LA.
If he is on a 29er with any front chainring, and slick tires pumped high, then I suspect no way would I beat him.

I could beat Lance if he was on a TT bike. He is just an old washed up has been.
