So I’m signed up for the Tinman, but don’t have a lodging reservation yet. The race website doesn’t list a race hotel, only a few different options.
Where is the best place to stay? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Bump.
The Dells are closer but will cost you several arms and legs. Baraboo is about 8 miles from the park and has several motels. I don’t have a phone book handy but I think if you do a Baraboo google or Yahoo search you will get the chamber of commerce site that has lodging links. Good luck.

Right now I’m leaning toward the Comfort Inn, thinking it will be the nicest of those that I’ve found. I don’t really want to stay at the Dells because I’ll be there for three nights which would be major dough, and I’m not that interested in tourist traps. Have I missed any decent hotels? Is there any to avoid? Do most athletes stay at one specific place? Thanks.

I did the Dells Tinman last year and I stayed at the Travel Lodge. It was clean, cheap, and there is even a pool. Also, the Travel Lodge is on the same road and only a mile or so from the race site. I’d stay there again if I were doing the race.
Though I didn’t stay there, I would also recommend the Travel Lodge. It is likely the closest motel to the race site, and looks pretty new.

If anyone else is looking for a cheap place to stay the Travel Lodge gave me a rate of $69/night, about half the price of the local resorts.
