COSMIC CARBONE SL-anyone ride these? feedback?

1500 a pair looks like good value for a full carbon rim–are they really buttery smooth?

They do ride great, really superb, and they are quite durable but they are a trifle heavy for my taste.

would you suggest the reynolds instead?

Well here we go again. We had a big thread a week or so ago. The Carbones weigh 5-10 oz a set more than Zipps, Heds, or Reynolds rims in about the same depth. Lots of Pros ride them, but may be paid to ride them. Some people really like the smooth bearings, but the others all have smoooth bearings as well.

They would not be my first choice for climbing wheels, probably be good allround wheels. I would think an 80 in the rear and 60 in the front would be more aero and weigh the same or less. The Carbones are like the old Hed Jet wheels and are not structural carbon, but a fairing. They are pretty tough wheels.

Not too sure any of the equal depth aero wheels are faster in a flat race. Kraig Willits has a pay for view site that rates the rims in a tunnel. From what I could read at different angles and speeds different wheels preformed better or worse than others. But none of them stole all the honors So if your race has a constant 20 mph wind at 30 degrees from the rear use brand X.

If you like them buy them and run what ya brung. G

They are heavy but accelerate really well. These are my ‘emergency’ aero wheels when I don’t travel with my Disc/hed 3 combo.
