Cool ON Car Camera Video of Lap at Le Mans

That was pretty cool. How long is that track? 8 miles?

Speaking of fast rides… my GF called today & said the Blue Angels were in Battle Creek this weekend and were offering 10 minute flights for $200 from 4-6 pm. NOT!! My mind was racing trying to figure out a way to make it to the bank then to BC by then. @)(#@)(#*!!!

It just didn’t seem right, but I fell for it anyway. $1000 for a 30 minute flight? Hmmmm…

The track is almost 14k so almost 9 miles. It’s the longest and fastest track around, even though parts of it are public roads for the rest of the year. With laps taking about 4 minutes, it’s hard for the crew to stay awake during each lap. I liked the low-tech camera solution. I guess 200 mph tape really works.

I saw the Blue Angels in Chicago not too long ago, it was very cool. We were on the roof of a building near the water and they just about overflew us a few times.

That is absolutely friggin HILARIOUS that they simply taped a regular Canon digicam, not even a true video cam, onto the hood – and it survived! LOL.

The race is this weekend. Should be a great race with Peugeot 908 taking the pole and a Audi R10 next. The best Le Mans video is from the movie “Le Mans” with Steve McQueen. The Porsche 917 was the best Le Mans race car ever.

The race should be fantastic! The forecast is for rain, so it should make things interesting.

Too bad there is such a gulf between the diesel and the gas LMP cars.

The Corvettes are going to have their hands full. They don’t have the speed of the Saleens or Astons, so they’ll have to win it in the pits and with reliability (again).

The Porsche 917s and 962s were fantastic. The fact that some version of the 911 has been winning for what seems like forever is also amazing.

Ill be watching and rooting for the R10…BTW the R8’s will soon arrive in the US…450 HP of road legal Audi!!..looking forward to seeing one!

GO AUDI!

I had my first ride in a z06 a couple weeks ago. GM does a least one car right.
